Congratulations! The winner of the November 2009 Maxwell Excellence Award for service to local swimming, given by Swimming World Magazine is PVS official, Tim Husson. He joins the other recent PVS Maxwell Award Winners Boots Hall (2008) and Ron Whalen (2004). How to Become a PVS Official PVS Officials Clinic Schedule (updated 9/29/09) PVS Officials Newsletter - November 2009 New PVS Officials Chair (9/1/09) Swimsuit Rules In July, FINA passed new rules regulating the material and shape of allowed suits beginning in 2010. The NCAA and the National H.S. Federation enacted similar rules for their coming seasons. On September, 19, 2009 the USA Swimming House of Delegates voted to adopt the FINA rule efffective Oct 1, 2009. The USA Swimming Rules and Regulations Chairman has issued a Letter to Members explaining the new rules. On 9/23, he provided additional clarification. USA Swimming has issued this List of Allowable Suits. Please read it carefully and in its entirety. (updated 10/16) The PVS Officials Committee has issued its Guidelines for Referees concerning the swimsuit rule changes. PVS has put together a page to collect all this information about new swim suit rules, including interpretations and other information.
